AFE is an add-on product that fax enables your applications. Automated Fax Engine provides you with several options to enable your Clarion reports with fax capabilities.

As an example, consider an invoice report that breaks on customer. If you'd like to automatically fax invoices to those customers who have a fax number then AFE will do that AS WELL AS print those that do not have fax numbers or fail during faxing. This is completely transparent to your users, they simply select the option to "Automate" their report and it's all taken care of for them.

AFE also provides support for single break reports (where all pages comprise a single document) that may be automated or call the built-in fax form for runtime faxing. This option also supports multiple recipients from a report generated ONCE ... and each recipient will get a personalized coversheet!

AFE includes all the support utilities you'll require for your use or as options for your users.

  As a developer you have programmatic access to all received faxes and data and can process them as require. You could consider forwarding the faxes via email or rerouting received faxes to mailboxes within a company ... the possibilities await!

  Clarion APP containing an All-In-One utility browse and forms for user support. Includes required DCT providing for easy import into an existing applications or simply as an example of how to handle the needs when creating your own utilities.
    
• Cover Sheet Designer
  AFE includes a complete cover sheet editor provided in DLL, as well as, EXE format. Either may be used from within your application by using CODE or CONTROL TPL's.
    
• Variety of Templates
  A varied set of extension, code and control templates to support automated report processing with multiple breaks (multiple recipients), single break (one recipient) and single break to multiple recipients (CC's).
    
  Also support for individual page faxing and external image based faxes (WMF, BMP, JPG, GIF, TIF, FMF, TXT).
    
  Fax "image" size adjustments in Clarion reports by either an overall percent or by components (X-pos, Y-pos, Width, Height) on a report by report basis.
    
• Ease of Use
  Can be implemented with as little as adding one global extension and an extension on any report you want to fax. But it can be expanded from there in many directions.
    
  Want to print a single report and send it to a bunch of folks... easy! Write a report and on its extension template just check the option for Multiple Recipients then drop an extension template onto the "attached" Process procedure, set a few options and you're done.
    
  Have a need to create "external" faxes from images, well again, no problem. And the list goes on.
    
• Multiple Modem Support
  AFE can support up to 20 fax modems with concurrent faxing.
      
• Fax Scheduling
  Scheduled sending (delayed) for queuing faxes to be processed after hours.
    
• Grouped Faxes!
  Support for "grouped" faxes. What in the world does "grouped faxing" mean, well consider that through the day a single recipient might end up with several queued faxes... why dial the same fax number for each... with AFE you won't since it will "group" all the faxes going to the same fax number, regardless of recipient, and fax ALL the pages including the requested coversheets in ONE CALL!
    
• Developer Licensing
  Each developer must have a developers license for use.
   
• Distribution Licensing
  The first developer license, and only first, provides 500 FaxMan distribution licenses per year.
  (distribution licenses do not accumulate with additional developers licenses)
    
  If you have needs that exceed 500 AFE server installations per year you may purchase Data Techniques FaxMan from Lodestar Software or directly from Data Techniques. This purchase provides 10,000 distribution licenses per year.
    
  If you install 500 or less AFE servers per year the licenses included in AFE will automatically "renew" each year without any additional purchase, ever!
